2016…What Do We Do Now?!

Posted By: Lucia Barber

In the year and a half that I’ve worked here I’ve seen our production potential at 1800 For Promo undergo an impressive level of development and change.  These alterations to our processes, equipment, and environment are always surprising and energetic and I continue to be amazed by this momentum. Coming into 2016 we settled into our major move into a much larger factory: more space, more staff, and more machinery.

This means it’s time for an updated overview of what we offer you – what do we do at 1800 For Promo today? Also, who are we? We’ll look at the office and production team to give you an idea of where we are coming from, and to build a clearer introduction of our joint expertise that we bring from multiple design, trade, and sales industries to function as a successful team in the promotional industry.

Rather than just presenting this in a one-off list of “things we do” and “things we know”, I’ll detail our work and skill-set throughout our first-ever blog series, 1800 Processes. This series will showcase jobs that we are sending out the door each week. But more usefully, for you –our customers and clients – these blogs will give insight into the processes that shape your products. Process awareness is key to building your confidence when making artwork, stock, shape, size, and type decisions that 1) define your promotional presence in the corporate or small business market; 2) determine the effectiveness and impact of your product activation event; or 3) successfully bring to existence the utter awesomeness of your custom team active wear at your next club event.

Here, ideas become products. And rather than keep the steps in between as unnecessarily guarded secrets, this knowledge will be shared with you so that are able to use these as tools to better communicate your desires, to help streamline the production process, to push the limits of the media (if that’s what you want to do!), to make more informed decisions, to be confident in your design choices, and overall, to be aware of the multitude of possible branding and promotional opportunities that lie in all of the things that we do – little and large.

Making it Last – Protecting Your Promotional Signage

…Exposure means more views and more business but it also means more storm to weather. Laminating your signage… Adhesive quality…

What does that say? – Visibility, Sizing, Providing Accurate Dimensions and the Advantages of Matte or Gloss

…A few years back saw an ingeniously placed sign almost entirely obscured by overgrown bush – it said “Trees Need Pruning?”… Unless your intention is for your promotional products to intentionally be obscured as an awesome marketing strategy or to be exquisitely subtle as a statement of your business ethos, there are some key media and measurement choices that you need to consider when ordering your signage, uniforms, and other branded items…
